Scotland - TNAP response

Our Scottish branch have commented on the consultation by Transport Scotland on a new Transport Noise Action Plan (TNAP) 2025 – 2028. Under the 2019 – 2024 plan, measures implemented included noise barriers at five locations, low noise road surfacing in Noise Management Areas, and work to embed noise into policies. This consultation covered noise from roads and railways and identifies candidate noise management areas. In responding we outlined issues we would like to see discussed at the Transport Noise Action Group (TNAG) during the next five year cycle of noise action planning – including a review of noise mitigations adopted through the planning process for new noise sensitive developments, comparison of any soundscape interventions piloted 2019 – 2024 with any implemented 2024 – 2028, and more engagement of local policymakers and professionals with ongoing objectives and actions of the TNAG.
